Jacob is not a particularly willing supervillain, but born with a power made for it, abandoned at an early age, raised and experimented on by a particularly mad scientist, having been arrested before he'd even hit his teenage years- what else was he ever going to be? In a world where powers must be registered or the holder be considered a criminal, where registration is open and people debate what powers are good and bad, discriminate based on those preconceptions, Jacob holds there wasn't and still isn't much other choice.

But he can give other people a chance, with enough money. Using his power to be able to slide through inanimate objects, he can make the money, make sure other children with his powers are raised in secret, given a choice of whether to register or not, what kind of life they want to lead. It's all very illegal, but better him than anyone else.

In character as Asomaton, he is above all else noticeable. Half metal, half man, dressed in black and red, he makes sure to leave an impression. Loud and talkative, willing to expound loudly on the injustice of a world so divided into black and white, he keeps his true motives to his chest. And he's always willing to fight unfair, to use his powers in any way that will let him escape with the loot and his continued freedom. Asomaton works alone, the better to get the job done without complications.

Out of character, Jacob Walker is a rather quieter figure, polite, unassuming- and without any of the external cybernetics people expect, as they're mostly prosthetic. Most of it is under the skin, leaving him looking like anyone else, especially in the glasses he dons as an extra level of separation. Asomaton is a role and a job, not who he truly is, or so he claims.

Powers:

The power he was born with is intangibility, a power usually seen as more suited to theft than heroism in Jacob's world. This covers him, and anything covering him, to a depth of about 2 inches- anything bigger than that, he just doesn't affect. He can also only pass through inanimate objects, nothing living.

He's also got a number of cybernetic additions, mostly to arms and legs and one eye, that allow easy access to networks and most security measures. He's also lightly armoured under his skin there, and across his torso. The external prosthetics he wears as Asomaton boost his range a little, but are mostly just to provide a little extra protection, and to make people assume that without them, he's disarmed.
